I’ve had the joy of volunteering at Able to Serve since last October, and let me tell you—this place is something special. I was familiar with Able to Serve for several years, but this past fall I investigated volunteering for the first time. I struggled with deep depression over the past year and I was looking for a way to help others and get the focus off of me that darkness can often bring. Sometimes the best medicine is to serve others. And Able to Serve has been just that shot in the arm I need once a week. The Lord has used it to bring me life and purpose every Monday morning to start my week in an amazing way! The first time I walked in, I was greeted with high fives and hugs. I watched participants leading prayer, learning how to cook, packing food for local families, and just lighting up the room with laughter and love. It didn’t take long to realize: this isn’t just a program. It’s a community. I’m fundraising because I believe in what Able to Serve is doing and has been doing for 22 years!. They’re not just caring for adults with disabilities—they’re equipping them to live full, meaningful lives and giving them the opportunity to serve others. That flips the script in the most beautiful way. Every dollar you give helps keep this program affordable for families, many of whom are navigating huge financial and emotional challenges. Your gift isn’t just a donation—it’s a chance to help someone grow in confidence, faith, independence, and belonging. I’ve set a goal to raise $500 by May 23rd. Will you help me get there? Together, we can make a difference for people who deserve every opportunity to shine. 💛💙
